Future-proofing urban areas in the face of the climate crisis

Campaign Summary

While CCAG promotes initiatives aimed at halting temperature increases as swiftly as possible, the organisation also acknowledges the pressing need for adaptation strategies more suited to present global temperatures.

CCAG's campaign is about enhancing adaptation and resilience within urban environments, with a keen focus on safeguarding the most vulnerable populations from the impacts of the climate crisis.

These individuals often represent the most marginalised sectors of society, making their protection a paramount concern.

Through its endeavors in this realm, CCAG demonstrates that embracing climate-positive actions in urban areas not only mitigates the risks but also serves as a driving force toward fostering a clean, prosperous, and equitable society.

At COP27, the CCAG joined forces with C40 Cities to convene a distinguished roundtable dedicated to exploring climate finance in urban settings. This high-level discussion centered on the pivotal role cities play in steering the world toward a green and equitable future.

During the C40 Cities Global Summit in Buenos Aires, CCAG conducted a masterclass for an assembly of mayors from around the world, complemented by a series of personalised briefings for city leaders. These in-depth sessions provided valuable insights to mayors from major cities such as Los Angeles, Dhaka, Paris, and Freetown, emphasizing the critical impact urban strategies have on global climate action and sustainability efforts.
